MYSO In-House Travel Team

MYSO In-house traveling soccer team
 
MYSO will be holding try-outs for it's fall, In-house traveling soccer teams. Teams will play a nine game season at Oak Ridge Park in Washington plus a tournament at the end of the season, competing against teams from other local communities. The season runs from September 12 - October 31 with all games being played on Saturday afternoons. There are three age groups available, all co-ed. You must be registered for MYSO's fall in-house league in order to try-out. These games are in addition to the MYSO league games. Members of other club/travel teams are not eligible to participate.   The cost is $40 per player and includes the uniform.
 
Age groups:
U10: players born between 8/1/99 and 7/31/01
U12: players born between 8/1/97 and 7/31/99
Junior High: players born on or before 7/31/97 and currently in junior high
Players must play in their appropriate age group based on date of birth regardless of grade in school.
 
Try out dates:
U10: Saturday, August 1st   9-11am (Two, 11 player teams will be selected)
U12: Saturday, August 8th  9-11am (Two, 14 player teams will be selected)
Junior High: Tuesday, August 11th   5:30-7:30pm (Two, 14 player teams will be selected)
All try-outs will be held at McClallen Park. You must participate in try-outs in order to be selected for a team.

Rachel Payne Wins $1,000 Scholarship Award

Rachel Payne was this years winner of MYSO's $1,000 Scholarship Award.

This is the first year for the award which is given to a past MYSO player, referee or concession stand worker who are enrolling in college in the fall. The contestants wrote an essay on how MYSO impacted them and their families. Rachel's was chosen the best among all the essay's that were submitted.

Congratulations Rachel!

SOCCER STIMULUS PLAN

with lower fees for 2009

 WHO CAN PLAY?    

Kindergarten through Ninth grade in the 2009-2010 school year.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?    

Uniform,  Accident Reimbursement Plan,  Team Fun, and Excellent Exercise!

WALK-IN REGISTRATION?    

Walk -in registration will be at the Morton Rec Center located at 342 Detroit Ave. on the following dates:

Saturday, May 9        9:00am - 12:00pm
Monday, May 11        5:30pm - 7:30pm

MAIL-IN REGISTRATION?

Mail-in registration forms will be mailed in early May to families that participated in MYSO last year. Forms are also available in the documents tab at the left. Mail-in registration forms must be postmarked by May 11th.

LEAGUE PLAY?

Mid August to late October at McClellan Park

WHAT ELSE?

There are separate Boys and Girls divisions for 1st. - 9th. grades. The kindergarten division will include instructional & team play. Free training is available to become a coach. NEW THIS YEAR! MYSO is going to have tryouts for travel teams in age groups (3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade and Jr High grades) that will play a variety of community teams from around the area in the Inter-community League on Saturday afternoons in Washington! All travel team participants must play on an in-house team to qualify. Tryouts are scheduled for one week after in-house teams are drafted at the beginning of August. Details will follow.
